Through diligent effort, he successfully completed his education, earning a B.Com degree from SD College Chandigarh after his studies at Kendriya Vidalia Mullanpur.

He valiantly gave his life in a shootout with insurgents in the Anantnag region of Jammu and Kashmir. The operation, which was resumed on Wednesday morning, was led by Colonel Singh’s battalion. This attack was orchestrated by the outlawed Resistance Front, resulting in the loss of lives not only of Colonel Manpreet Singh but also of Major Ashish Dhonack and Deputy Superintendent Humayun Bhat, who had recently entered into marriage.

During his tenure, he served as the second-in-command in the army from 2019 to 2021 before assuming the role of commanding officer.
