Gaurish was deeply passionate about media, whether it was the big screen or the small screen. As one of the founding members of TV9, he played a pivotal role even before the channel’s inception, contributing significantly to the success of TV9 Kannada.

Although he anchored numerous programs spanning politics, social issues, and cultural matters, Gaurish left a distinctive mark in the Entertainment Section. He had the distinction of conducting interviews with all the major figures in the Sandalwood industry. Two of his highly acclaimed interview series were “Sakkath Maathu” and “Prema Pallavi”.

After nearly five years at TV9, Gaurish Akki transitioned to Suvarna News 24/7 in 2010, where he served for three years. Leading the cinema team, he curated daily doses of the glamour world in the program “Cinema Hungama”. Additionally, he produced and directed several programs, with one notable series being “Out of Focus” which garnered significant attention.

Film career

Gaurish initiated his film career with a leading role in the Kannada movie “Sipayee”. Following this, he took on the roles of both writer and director for his debut Kannada film, “Cinema My Darling”, which premiered in March 2016. Subsequently, he starred in another Kannada movie, “Kengulabi”, based on a novel, which was scheduled for release in 2018.
