Career
At the age of 26, Bhatt marked his directorial debut with the film “Manzilein Aur Bhi Hain” in 1974, featuring Kabir Bedi and Prema Narayan. He followed it up with his first commercial film, “Naam,” in 1984. In “Naam,” Helen received her first Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress, and Madhukar Shinde won the award for Best Art Direction.
Throughout his career, Mahesh Bhatt directed several notable films, including “Janam” (1985), “Saaransh” (1984), “Aashiqui” (1990), “Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin” (1991), “Sir” (1993), “Zakhm” (1998), and “Sadak” (1991). “Aashiqui” (1990), starring Rahul Roy, Anu Agarwal, and Deepak Tijori, became one of the biggest releases in Mahesh’s career.
