With the guidance and mentorship of Mehboob Ali, she began honing her skills at the badminton courts of the Indian Railway Institute of Signal Engineering and Telecommunications in Secunderabad. Her dedication and hard work started to yield results, as she secured a bronze medal in the singles category of the Iran Fajr International Badminton Challenge in 2010.

Continuing her promising career, Sindhu participated in the 2010 BWF World Junior Championships held in Mexico, where she reached the quarterfinals. Although she faced a defeat against Chinese player Suo Di in a thrilling three-game match, her performance at such a prestigious event showcased her potential and determination. The year 2011 proved to be highly successful for Sindhu, as she emerged victorious at the Maldives International Competition, further solidifying her growing reputation in the badminton world. Notably, at the age of 16, Sindhu displayed her tenacity and skill by competing in the All England Open Championships as a qualifier, an impressive feat for such a young player.
