How It All Started
Pranjali’s passion for technology was ignited by her father, an engineer deeply devoted to teaching computer science. Remarkably, at the tender age of seven, she embarked on her coding journey, mastering various programming languages and frameworks. Her insatiable curiosity led her to explore machine learning and artificial intelligence, culminating in a remarkable internship at the age of 13 at Florida International University’s research lab. During this internship, she immersed herself in a wide range of machine learning projects while also attending virtual high school due to the pandemic.
This invaluable experience also introduced her to OpenAI’s ChatGPT-3, a powerful tool capable of generating text based on user input. This encounter served as a catalyst for her to conceptualize Delv.AI, a platform that harnesses the power of AI to extract and distill essential information from online sources, specifically designed to assist researchers in their work.
Pranjali Awasthi’s inspiration for conceiving Delv AI stems from her background as a researcher. Identifying a noticeable gap in the market for a proficient and precise data extraction tool that would aid researchers in sifting through the vast expanse of online information, she took the initiative to establish the company in January 2022. Currently, Delv AI boasts a dedicated team of ten individuals.
Pranjali keenly observed the lack of effective tools for extracting specific information from the vast sea of content on the internet. The primary objective of Delv AI, as envisioned by Pranjali, is to provide academics with a seamless and efficient means of pinpointing relevant data within the extensive web landscape. Her work on Delv AI commenced in 2021, with the foundational use of OpenAI’s GPT-3 language model.
The platform disrupts traditional barriers and enhances data extraction methods by seamlessly integrating artificial intelligence (AI). Pranjali designed a web-based platform that allows users to upload or paste text from sources like research papers, news articles, or web pages. They can subsequently pose questions or request summaries based on the provided text. This vision materialized into an intelligent AI solution engineered to expedite tasks and streamline the utilization of time and resources for researchers.
In the year 2023, Pranjali Awasthi, aged 16, resides in Miami with her parents. Her diverse interests include reading, playing chess, enjoying music, and spending quality time with her friends. Pranjali takes delight in reading books, participating in chess matches, immersing herself in the world of music, and treasuring moments with her close friends. Additionally, she actively engages on multiple social media platforms like Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn, where she shares her insights and provides updates on her various pursuits.
At the tender age of thirteen, Pranjali Awasthi was offered an internship opportunity at the research lab of Florida International University. Her unwavering goal is to further advance Delv AI and establish it as the premier data extraction tool globally. During her internship, Pranjali admirably balanced her commitment to both the virtual high school she attended and her active participation in various machine learning projects. She is resolute in her determination to inspire more young girls to pursue their STEM aspirations.
Following the successful completion of her internship, Pranjali joined an AI startup accelerator in Miami, led by Lucy Guo and Dave Fontent of Backened Capital. She firmly believes that age should never be a hindrance to conceiving innovative ideas and launching one’s entrepreneurial ventures.
