Shubman Gill’s cricketing journey began at a young age, showcasing his immense talent and potential. At the age of 11, he was already selected to play for the Under-16 Punjab cricket team at the district level, demonstrating his early promise in the sport. In December 2017, Gill’s abilities were recognized on a national scale when he was appointed as the vice-captain of India’s team for the prestigious 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Following this achievement, he earned a spot in India’s Under-19 cricket team later that same year, solidifying his position as a rising star in Indian cricket. Gill’s transition to the senior national team continued as he made his One Day International (ODI) debut on January 31, 2019, in the fourth ODI against New Zealand at Hamilton’s Seddon Park. This marked his entry into the international cricket scene at the highest level.
