She comes from a cricket-loving family, where her mother’s name is Smita Mandhana. Cricket runs in their blood as both her father and brother, Shravan, have played cricket at the district level, representing Sangli.

However, in January 2017, she suffered an unfortunate knee injury while fielding after bowling the final ball of her over. Smriti Mandhana also made her T20 international debut against Bangladesh Women on April 5, 2013, in England.
