In 1999, Sonu Sood made his acting debut in the Tamil film ‘Kallazhagar.’ The same year, he was also seen in another Tamil movie titled ‘Nenjinile,’ where he co-starred alongside Vijay and Isha Koppikar. Following this, in 2001, he starred in the Tamil film ‘Majunu.’After gaining recognition in the South Indian film industry, Sonu Sood shifted his focus to Hindi films. In 2002, he made his Bollywood debut with the film “Shaheed-E-Azam,” where he portrayed the role of Bhagat Singh. The film showcased his acting prowess and opened doors for him in Bollywood. It was in 2004, after starring in the political drama ‘Yuva,’ that Sonu Sood began to receive recognition and acclaim in Bollywood.
